Join us on February 29th for Chasing Freedom: Voices of Slavery
Join Polaris for an evening of cocktails and hors devours in the executive dining room of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, overlooking Wacker Drive!
You will enjoy a 30 minute dramatic performance in the CME auditorium by Polaris’ sixth graders. This original drama, featuring student-written narratives, is the culmination of the students’ original research of the Civil War and the history of slavery. The moving, multi-media performance is set to music and original student artwork. The evening will conclude with additional food and drink while guests are given an opportunity to learn more about Polaris and to support the school.
Sylvia Ewing, award-winning journalist and charter school champion, will be joining us as Mistress of Ceremonies.
We are honored by the support of the CME Group Foundation, providing the venue for the event!
